Georgia STAND-UP, Hosea Helps, Apron's for Change Join to Feed Over 1,200 Families on Thanksgiving

Atlanta, GA - November 21, 2023 - Georgia STAND-UP is proud to announce its sponsorship of Hosea Helps Annual Thanksgiving Festival of Service. This year, on November 23, over 1200 hot meals prepared by Chef Tim Morgan will be distributed to families and individuals in need across Atlanta.

Wednesday, November 22 - 9:00 pm to 12:00 am

  • Preparation kicks off with Chef Tim Morgan at 1465 Chattahoochee Ave, Atlanta, GA 30318.Interviews are welcome during this time. Reporters should reach out to Liv Duncan or Carcelia Ivory.

Thursday, November 23 - 7:00 am to 9:30 am

  • Loading Hosea Helps trucks with cooked meals with Chef Tim, Deborah Scott (Georgia STAND-UP), and volunteers at 1465 Chattahoochee Ave, Atlanta, GA 30318.Interviews are welcome during this time. Reporters should reach out to Liv Duncan or Carcelia Ivory.

The distribution plan includes multiple locations, starting at:

  • 11:00 am Lilly Campbell, 1836 Campbellton Road, Atlanta, GA 30311

  • 12:00 pm Wheat Street Towers 375 Auburn Ave, Atlanta, GA 30312

  • 1:00 pm Branon Towers, 1200 Glenwood Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30316

In total, 400 senior citizens across these three facilities will receive warm Thanksgiving meals.


Simultaneously, the remaining 800 meals will be dedicated to those who have pre-registered on Hosea Helps' website for home-delivered meals as well as homeless individuals in parks across Atlanta. The collaborative efforts of Hosea Helps, Apron's for Change, and Georgia STAND-UP ensure that this Thanksgiving reaches those in need, offering not only sustenance but a sense of warmth and community.

Chef Tim Morgan’s, owner of Aprons for Change, selflessness shines as he contributes to this worthy cause by prepping and preparing 1200 hot meals for the elderly and homeless within the metro Atlanta area. Hosea Helps is honored to collaborate with Aprons for Change in this meaningful endeavor and would like to ask for a few experienced food professionals to assist Chef Tim with the preparation of the meals. We ask them to register at 4hosea.org/volunteers.
