Securing Federal Funds for Georgia
With historic federal funds flowing into the Green economy, an economic shift is inevitable, but equity is not. Georgia STAND-UP is organizing to ensure that underserved communities can access the economic growth catalyzed by these federal investments.
With two decades of expertise in Georgia's racial and climate justice realms, STAND-UP is uniquely positioned, thanks to its active role in federal investment implementation work and deep-rooted connections with Justice40 communities.
On February 15, STAND-UP hosted the “Impact for Investing” convening to foster state and local coordination surrounding incoming funds from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), and CHIPS and Science Act. Georgia STAND-UP's role as convener builds ecosystem capacity for community-based organizations, local and regional governments, and community stakeholders to ensure that Justice40 communities can reap the transformative potential of these federal investments to achieve their developmental goals.
