Georgia STAND-UP’s serves as a watch dog over the Gold Dome tracking issues and legislation most impactful to everyday Georgians. Our Legislative staff meet with local, state, and federal officials to explore solutions for issues impacting the quality of life in underserved communities.

Georgia STAND-UP maintains a daily presence at the Georgia State Capitol during the legislative session monitoring bills, advocating for just and equitable solutions, and educating the public about the impact of legislation. Georgia STAND-UP’s legislative staff meet with local, state, and federal officials to explore solutions for issues impacting the quality of life in underserved communities such as affordable housing, transit and economic equity, criminal justice reform, workforce development, access to health care, education, and voter protection.

At Georgia STAND-UP, our legislative advocacy spans all levels of government, including municipal, county, state, and federal. We organize town halls across Georgia to facilitate direct dialogue between community members and their representatives, enhancing mutual understanding and accountability. Additionally, we form coalitions with community, faith-based, and labor groups to unify our voice and strengthen our impact.
Our engagement also includes roundtable discussions where diverse stakeholders collaborate on strategic solutions to pressing issues. These discussions, combined with meetings with elected officials, allow us to present detailed data, real-life stories, and expert analyses, which are crucial in shaping informed legislation.
Furthermore, we leverage social media to broaden our reach and mobilize support, ensuring our advocacy efforts and community voices have a lasting impact.
