Easter is a time of celebration and renewal, and this year, Georgia STAND-UP partnered with Hosea Helps to bring joy and hope to families in need. On Saturday, April 9th, the Easter Celebration was hosted at Hosea Helps, an Atlanta-based non-profit that provides emergency services, food, and clothing to those experiencing homelessness and poverty.
Georgia STAND-UP, a non-profit organization dedicated to building the power of low-income and working-class communities in Georgia, donated several Easter baskets and over 1,728 eggs for the event. The Easter Celebration provided an opportunity for families to receive food boxes, fresh produce, and school supplies, as well as enjoy a variety of activities and services.
Barber and braider services were available to help families look and feel their best, while kids could participate in Easter egg hunts, bounce houses, face painting, and other fun activities. Hotdogs were also provided to ensure that everyone had a tasty meal to enjoy.
The event was a huge success, with many families expressing their gratitude for the generosity of Hosea Helps, local organizations, and community members. The Easter Celebration not only provided practical support, but it also offered a sense of community and connection during a time when many people feel isolated and alone.
Georgia STAND-UP's mission is to create sustainable, equitable communities through economic and workforce development, affordable housing, and civic engagement. By partnering with Hosea Helps and supporting events like the Easter Celebration, Georgia STAND-UP is fulfilling its commitment to building strong and resilient communities in Georgia.
