Community Organizing

Georgia STAND-UP utilizes Community Organizing skills and tools to support our community benefits campaigns, policy advocacy and research efforts, voter registration and education drives, and other important campaigns and issues that arise. A core value of the STAND-UP Alliance is the broad engagement and education of the residents to be a force in making change in their neighborhoods.
 
Our Community Organizing programs include a variety of skills and tools, such as door-to-door canvasses, phone banking, on-line organizing, mass production of flyers, and other efforts to generate broad participation. In addition to STAND-UP’s direct organizing efforts, our members can participate in a Community Organizing 101 workshop, which translates traditional labor organizing skills into a community framework that leaders can utilize in their own neighborhoods.
