Georgia STAND-UP endorses the Trail of Dreams for immigration reform

On January 1st, four immigrant students left Miami, Florida for a four month, 1,500 mile long journey to Washington, DC – on foot. These brave students are walking the “Trail of Dreams” in order to unite support for just and humane immigration reform and highlight the urgent need for change.

Join Georgia STAND-Up at the Fiesta de Bienvenida/Welcome Party on Saturday, February 27 to show solidarity for these dreamers. Visit our Calendar for more information.

“We walk to share our stories, so that everyday Americans understand what it’s like for the millions of immigrants, especially young people, unable to fully participate in society. Our journey will be long and full of hardship, but for us, we see no other option. We are putting our futures in jeopardy because our present is unbearable.”

Carlos, Gaby, Felipe and Juan will arrive in our nation’s capital on May 1st, cheered on by supporters from throughout the country, until their demands are met:

  • Stop the separation of families and the deportation of dreamers!
  • Just and humane immigration reform that includes:
  • Equal access to education!
  • Worker’s rights!
  • An end to the separation of families!
  • A pathway to citizenship!
